Rented from them for three years. They let us move into a property with an active sewer leak below the unit without notifying us. Whole place smelled like piss for a little over a week and there were giant piss stains in the small carpeted rooms. They refused to replace the small amount of carpet or lower cost of rent. Maintenance guys are nice but do a half ass job on repairs 70% of the time. Literally half ass. Like will only fill holes and cracks halfway and paint over mold. Avoid renting from them at all costs. Duerksen reached out after they tried to perform an inspection at my then home and enter the apartment without providing me with notice. When I informed them that I changed the key for the lock as I was fearful for my safety from my previous roommate, they required the lock to be changed and provided said previous roommate, who should not have had access to the apartment, with a key! I've been scammed. Submitted application for my son as a co-signer (that is two application fees). I am more than qualified. Provided perfect reference from last two years. Naoimi said place we applied for have no applicants we are the only ones. Our offer to another place got accepted (farther from campus). Before I signed the lease on that one I wanted to get a response from Duerksen. Naoimi said she needed previous place reference which did not make sense, but provided that too. Unfortunately google doesn’t allow 0 stars, and if it does then we have a winner here Rented a house from a reputed management company years ago but the owner went cheap and changed to Duerksen, and despite the bad reviews and reputation we tried our best to keep the house in best condition though maintenance by them was done very cheaply, and though carpet was used when we moved in and they refused to change for 8 years , and they refusal to paint or do any maintenance in leaking pipes we still handed them the house in mint... read more

This is a mixed review. In general, it feels like they treat you like a number, not a human; You are treated like an irresponsible college student regardless of how many decades you've been out of school. I think they manage too many properties to do any one of them well. In my experience, because they try to dummy proof everything, they end up treating everyone like a dummy, regardless of how responsible and decent the tenant actually is.
