What makes this hotel exceptional is the staff. Wowee are these guys amazing. I stayed for 2 weeks and yes the hotel is a bit dated, but it was very clean. The cleaning staff were not only efficient but so kind. Everyday someone called me by name and stopped to chat. Being away from home for that long, it was such a nice feeling knowing the staff took the time to get to know me. Whoever hired the staff, great job! Your people seem to truly love working there. Amazing hotel! We had a lovely stay at the Barrie Fairfield Inn and Suites! All of the staff were so friendly and helpful. We especially appreciate Amy's help at the front desk and Enoka, the hospitality supervisor. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. Amazing selection of hot food, fresh fruit, juice, chocolate milk and hot beverages. Great coffee! The bedrooms were clean, comfortable and the bathrooms were very nice and bright. Was probably a really nice hotel when it was new, doesnt look like maintenance is kept up. Looked forward to the hot tub but it seemed closed. Pool didnt look clean either. Photos online were probably from new. First room we got was dirty (stained sheets, ac/heat not working well, dead bugs on the walls, dusty switches, etc.) After complaining, second room was better. An older Fairfield Inn for sure but in good shape nonetheless. The decor was not as up to date as others we've visited but for the most part, the room and grounds were clean. There is not too much around this hotel that is within walking distance but everything is a short drive away if you have to step out. The hotel is right off highway 400 which is very convenient.

Room was old but it was okay, hockey kids making noise until 1:30 in the morning. Hair in the shower, mascara stains on the towels. Whole place sucked. Glad I only stayed for a night.
