Was probably a really nice hotel when it was new, doesnt look like maintenance is kept up. Looked forward to the hot tub but it seemed closed. Pool didnt look clean either. Photos online were probably from new. First room we got was dirty (stained sheets, ac/heat not working well, dead bugs on the walls, dusty switches, etc.) After complaining, second room was better. An older Fairfield Inn for sure but in good shape nonetheless. The decor was not as up to date as others we've visited but for the most part, the room and grounds were clean. There is not too much around this hotel that is within walking distance but everything is a short drive away if you have to step out. The hotel is right off highway 400 which is very convenient.

We stay in Barrie often but this was our first time at this hotel. The staff were exceptional: both friendly and professional. We had one of the best welcome/check-in experiences and were also granted an early check-in. The included breakfast had the best variety of any Barrie hotel we've visited. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The bathroom was spotless and they provided proper bath-sized towels. Room was old but it was okay, hockey kids making noise until 1:30 in the morning. Hair in the shower, mascara stains on the towels. Whole place sucked. Glad I only stayed for a night.

Excellent hotel. Only minor criticism the tile in bathroom was losing grout and plastic utensils in dining are cheap and have sharp edges.
