This is day 2 out of 5 and we need someone to clean the bottoms of the pool and lazy river immediately. I know sand gets in the pool, well because this is the beach. The water is clear but at the bottom of the pool and lazy river are dead bugs, mulch, sticks, debris, and lots of sand. And barely smells of any chlorine or chemicals. The rooms are fine, they are clean, everything is fine… But the pools need some attention immediately. We would like to actually enjoy them before we leave. I’ve stayed at this hotel many times but that was about ten years ago, I just got back after staying there once again and I must say it has really went down hill bad, like having to ask practically every day to get the room serviced, ant infestation at the pool, black mold everywhere, neither hot tubs not working, patio door was dragging and extremely hard to open or close and I honestly don’t think it’s possible to buy cheaper toilet paper and I could go on …. You might as well be sleeping on steel plate than these beds. Very unacceptable for a $215/night place plus taxes and fees. Being able to rest on vacation is essential, but the beds are nothing but innerspring. No noticeable comfort material on top.

Long time visitor to the Grand Strand - usually with family, but now as new empty nesters, it was just me and my lovely wife. Having stayed at The Ashworth condos next door for many years, we know the area well and Ocean Drive Resort has always looked nice. And indeed, we had a wonderful week! As mentioned, the location is perfect, so many things are walkable and other NMB "touristy" areas like Barefoot Landing are only about a 4-5 mile drive. Resort was great..clean room and lots of room for a super last minute reservation. The only things we were sort of surprised by was the pool area. Typically, with other resorts we've stayed at there's a pool crew cleaning the pool deck, checks chlorine levels in thr pools and cleans the sand/debris from the pools before the pools open. This didn't happen during the 3 days we were there. By the time we left, there was quite a bit of sand/debris and cloudiness in the lazy river.
